BRUSHES
You will never have enough brushes. For every MUA,a brush set is an investment. In most cases,mua's buy individual brushes from different brands to set up their personal effective collection. Sometimes, a particular brush can serve multiple functions. Apart from your expertise and training, the quality of your brush determines the overall outcome of your makeup application.
FOUNDATION
Its called foundation for a purpose. An mua must invest in quality foundation. It doesnt have to be expensive to be fantastic. Understanding skin types and skin tones is vital in getting the best use out of any foundation. Different brands with different compositions, so you will definitely find a perfect match. Lay a good foundation.
FACE PRIMER
Priming the face is vital when applying makeup. Of what use is sculpting your clients  face to perfection only to have it slide off in minutes leave your clients with patches. Choose wisely.
LIPSTICK
Just like brushes,you will never have enough lipsticks. Be it matte, cream etc,invest by buying carious colours. Mix and blend together (the same brand)to get varying shades. Most importantly,buy quality lipstick just so your bridal client isn't photographed with a cracked lip.
EYE SHADOW
From matte, to frost, to shimmer,let the lids pop pop. Using a good eyeshadow primer will enhance your eyeshadow, but quality pallets  are easier to use. Pallets of lesser quality fall off during application and create a mess. Usually, the colour fades off even before the end of the makeup process.
